GOP Larry Boggs hides behind eagle sanctuary tax shelter to avoid paying farm taxes which hurt a public school, says Oklahoma voter

After a political candidate forum, voter – Ray Miller responded that he will vote for Democrat state senate Paul Lane instead of GOP Larry Boggs. I was surprised to hear that Larry Boggs had got w/US senator Jim Inhofe to get his (Boggs) farm removed from the tax rolls by having his farm designated as an eagle sanctuary. Miller said that this happened in Latimer county & that it had huge impact on school in Panola, Oklahoma. Miller also added there are no eagles there near Inhofe’s farm.
Considering that Boggs farm was removed from tax roll, according to Miller, he stressed that this hurt the school & therefore Miller doubted Bogg’s sincerity that he would help the schools.
Note: Larry Boggs was the former director of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau. Jim Inhofe, a republican, who is the US senator for Oklahoma, is well known for his non-environmental friendly positions.
Larry Boggs is the republican nominee seeking election to the Oklahoma state Senate District 7 that is being vacated by Richard C. Lerblance (democrat). Bogg’s opponent is J. Paul Lane, the democratic nominee. Election is November 6, 2012.
This interview was done outside of the Kiamichi Center where political candidate forum was held (sponsored by Mcalester News-Capital), in Mcalester, Oklahoma. This event was held on Oct 16, 2012 at 6pm at the Kiamichi Center in Mcalester. Approximately 200 people attended.
