Obama funding Historically Black Colleges may gain him college votes. JSU – Mississippi

Denise Clark –  Doctoral candidate at Jackson State University (JSU) said she will vote for Obama because of his support for struggling college students.  Clark made specific reference to President Obama’s funding of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities), as well as his helping to keep student loan interests rates low.

At the time of this interview, I did not know what HBCU meant.  I was informed by Clark & her friend Micah Dennie (also a JSU student) that HBCU was abbreviation for Historically Black Colleges & Universities.

This interview was done at a  presidential debate watch party held on Oct 3, 2012 at Hals & Mals Restaurant on 200 Commerce, Jackson, Mississippi – in the Red Room.  The organizers of this event was Organizing for America (OFA) Mississippi chapter.  An estimate of over 200 people attended this event.
