GOP senate candidate Larry Bogg attacks Obama at debate. Get fierce opposition from audience. McAlester, Oklahoma – candidate forum – 10/16/2012

GOP senate candidate Larry Boggs did a throw-down on Obama & was met w/fierce opposition by Obama supporters at candidate forum in McAlester Oklahoma. Boggs & Obama supporters got into argument when he said Obama, if elected will control guns. And that he, as a NRA member will do what ever he can to get Obama out of office. He & his opponent J Paul Lane were given the question what would they do to protect 2nd amendment rights if Obama was re-elected. He said that Obama would control guns, that when the sparks flew.

Who ever the voter in the crowd that sent that question to the moderator, did Larry Boggs a dis-service. When he got into an argument w/the audience & then got engaged, he c could had lost the election. Even the law enforcement in the audience didn’t look too happy w/ Boggs. In a way I felt bad for Boggs because personally I like him. Yes, I have a soft spot for country boys. But this is politics & its not kool for a politician to engage in hostile exchanges w/the audience. Sorry. However, Lane, on the other hand, was smooth, calm & focused. Lane simply responded that as a military veteran he’s committed to protecting the 2nd amendment rights.

Larry Boggs is the republican nominee seeking election to the Oklahoma Senate District 7 that is being vacated by Richard C. Lerblance (democrat). His opponent is J. Paul Lane, the democratic nominee. Election is November 6, 2012.

Calvin, Oklahoma use non-partisan efforts for political candidate participation at its forum

Joyce Sells – coordinator of the meet-the-candidates forum held at Calvin Senior Citizen Center in Calvin, Oklahoma explains how this political forum was put together. I interviewed her after this forum basically because I was curious why no republican candidates were in attendance. Ms. Sells explained that all candidates were invited regardless of party affiliation. She further explained that deliberate & massive effort and methods were used to reach out to all people to attend & participate in this forum. The methods this coordinator used were: publication in newspapers, invitations were sent to all candidates, and posting of fliers.

At this political candidate speaking forum, there was an estimated attendance of little over a hundred people. It appeared to be standing room only.

The candidates who spoke were running for the following offices: Hughes County sheriff, Oklahoma state house of representatives district 18, and Oklahoma state State district 7. There was 1 other politician who spoke who I do not believe is running – Susan Paddack. All candidates & the politicians who spoke were democrats. As already stated, no republican candidates / politicians were present at this forum.

For the political offices for Oklahoma state house of representatives district 18, there is no republican candidate running. The incumbent is Donnie Condit. Carolyn McNatt is challenging him for that seat.

However, for State Senate district 7, there is 1 republican running for that seat, namely Larry Boggs. Since Boggs is the only republican running, he will not be running opposed in the primaries which will be held on June 26, 2012. But, Roger Shirley & J Paul Lane (both democrats) will run in the June 26th primaries against each other & which ever 1 of them wins in that primary will compete against Larry Boggs. This state senate seat is currently held by democrat Richard C. Lerblance, but he is retiring. So 1 of the 3 candidates (Boggs, Shirley & Lane), if victorious, will be a first timer for this state senate district 7 seat.

According to the Oklahoma Sheriff association website, all candidates running for Hughes county sheriff are democrats.

Hughes Co Oklahoma jail inmates in unsanitary conditions? Then Undersheriff want 2 cut back on groceries?

As a counter attack on Sheriff candidate Kenny Snyder, the undersheriff Doug Sipes of Hughes County Oklahoma at a political forum defended the sheriff dept as being timely in its response time to police calls.

Sipes complains that there’s only 2 good computers that he feels need upgrade w/new programing so that they could get information from other agencies. And that the jail needs to sell guns so basement can be cleared out.

The county jail sanitation is a problem, as Sipes mention it needs to be disinfected. Considering that this unsanitary jail is where inmates are housed, there may be health & disease issues. However, Sipes wants to bring in commissary snake food and cut back on the kitchen meals. I would had thought that if he’s going to make inmates live in disease infestation, at least he could allow them to keep their strength up with a nutritious cooked meal to give then a fighting chance of survival. Just saying!!

Regarding his credentials that he feels that qualifies him for job as sheriff is his 23 yrs of law enforcement experience.

The other candidates for Hughes County sheriff were: Kenny Snyder,Todd Hignite and Nolen Grizzle . According to the Oklahoma Sheriff association website, all candidates running for Hughes county sheriff are democrats. Doug Sipes & these 3 other candidate wants to be the new sheriff of Hughes County. The current sheriff, Houston Yeager is retiring.

Deputy of Hughes County Oklahoma Sheriff Dept denies that sheriff dept not responding to crime calls

Nolen Grizzle, a deputy for Hughes County Sheriff Dept.  rebuked remarks of  Kenny Snyder who is a candidate for sheriff to replace Grizzle’s boss.    Snyder  had blasted the sheriff department for its slow response time to calls; and that at times the sheriff department would not show up at residents homes when called.

Grizzle is also running for sheriff as the the current sheriff in office  is retiring.  So he shows up at a candidate forum in Calvin,  OK to give his presentation to the voters.    I had seen him before and thought he would be a suitable candidate, but I had never seen the other candidates; nor had I heard Grizzle speak at public events on law enforcement prior to this event.   At the forum he displayed somewhat of a text book over view of law enforcement work as he tried to outline his work history as  a security guard &  private contract prison guard where he said he learned some things about inmates &  as a police officer for a few years. He also disclosed what he had learned from a movie he watched in a class.  Throughout Grizzle’s entire presentation, he failed to point out anything that needed improving within the Sheriff department where he presently works.  Grizzle had the least qualifications in comparison to the other 3 candidates at the candidate forum.

Grizzle introduced himself to the voters in attendance at the Calvin Oklahoma political forum, as a Hughes County deputy sheriff and that he had been working there since June 2011.

The other 2012 candidates for Hughes County sheriff were: Kenny Snyder, Todd Hignite and Doug Sipes. According to the Oklahoma Sheriff association website, all candidates running for Hughes county sheriff are democrats. One of these 4 men will be the new sheriff of Hughes County, as the current sheriff – Houston Yeager is retiring.
