  1. Kind of ludicrous that someone would say that Romney can’t relate to the middle class but that Obama can. Obama did not have any sort of “typical” American experience, much less a “typical” black American experience growing up. By using this young man’s logic, you shouldn’t vote for anyone that isn’t just like yourself. If you’re Ivy League & wealthy, that’s who you vote for. It you’re uneducated and poor, you can only vote for someone like you. It makes no sense.

      • By virtue of his spending many formative years in Indonesia…by attending Muslim schools…by attending Ivy League schools..while those things are not exactly alien, the combination of things that comprise his background is not “typical” for the majority of Americans of any race. A typical background would include being raised in a public, private or parochial school setting in the US, maybe attending Ivy League, but more typically a state or private college–if at all–and if schooled overseas, it’s usually due to a parent being ivolved in military or government or even private sector. I firmly believe all of us are products of our enivronments and what happens the first 10-15 years of our lives has lasting impressions on how we view the world and interact with other people.
